Privacy Policy

This page explains how Linguify handles account data, AI tutor practice, learning records, and tutor handoff information.

What we collect

Linguify collects account details, email verification records, AI tutor messages, lesson progress, tutor applications, booking information, payment status from our payment service, and support messages you choose to send us.

AI tutoring

AI tutor messages and the minimum recent learning context needed for a reply are sent to our contracted AI model provider, currently DeepSeek. We remove obvious contact details and secrets before provider calls and do not use raw private chat as the default human-tutor handoff.

Learning records

Learning records may include lesson summaries, recent practice outcomes, recurring mistakes, language preferences, and progress snapshots. We use them to continue your study session and to help the product improve.

Human tutor handoff

If you book or share with a human tutor, relevant learning summaries and approved teacher handoff notes may be shown to that tutor so they can continue from your current level. Raw private chat is not used as a default tutor handoff.

Email use

We use email for verification codes, account recovery, booking updates, support replies, and important service notices. You can contact support if a verification or booking email does not arrive.

Payment service use

Payments are processed through a payment service such as Stripe. Linguify stores order, access, refund, and support status, but does not store full card numbers.

Retention

Raw messages from completed AI tutor sessions are normally removed after 180 days, product analytics after 90 days, read or archived notifications after 180 days, and security audit events after 400 days. Account, booking, payment, dispute, and learning summaries may be kept longer when needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations.

Export and deletion

You can request an export or deletion of your account data from the data rights page or by emailing support@linguify.app. We verify requests before acting and may retain limited records needed for billing, security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
